Runway Offsite Backup

A private backup utility operated by Leonardo Bonazzola for his own project data and recovery materials.

What the utility does

The utility is being configured to store encrypted, versioned backups in the operator’s Google Drive account. Its intended workflow uses restic to encrypt selected local files, and rclone to transfer the encrypted repository. Recovery requires the independently held backup password.

Selected data can include database backup archives, application files and protected recovery configuration. The operator chooses the backup scope and retention.

Google Drive access

The requested drive.file permission allows the connector to create and manage files and folders created through this application. Authorization takes place with Google; this information website does not receive passwords, authorization codes or tokens.

Google account authorization and the backup-encryption password serve separate purposes. Authorizing the connector alone does not create or upload a backup.
